CALL TO ACTION | 20TH DECEMBER
It was exactly 6 months ago that Elevate Church was launched, it has been such an exciting time. Elevate Church’s aim is to ‘Lift You Higher’, to help people see their full poteNtial in life and to help them discover that there is Hope, there is a future and that there is destiny for our lives that God has mapped out. We knew from the beginning that we were called to ‘make a difference’ within the local community.
Just over 6 months ago we made a bold statement that we wanted to work with local churches in our area, support food banks, help people that needed support and to collaboratively work with councils and schools.
Therefore, we just wanted to update you…
. Elevate church has joined the local Churches Together and held the annual Churches Together meeting at our church raising funds for Christian Aid.
. We have received confirmation that in the new year Elevate church will be a distribution food bank, giving valuable food bank parcels into the local areas working with Trussell Trust.
. We held a “Flourish” training day to equip those who took part to begin the Flourish Project which enables young people to reach their full potential. This is ongoing and we look forward to exciting developments in the new year.
. We have been asked to sit on the board of governance of our local school, for the main purpose of health and well-being, plus bringing in Christian values into the local school.
. We wanted to support and bless families at Christmas so we called out to our church to help us send out 25 food hampers for the local community. This was completed and sent out by Blaenau Gwent Social services.
. We received a cry for help from Social Services asking can we help them with Christmas presents for local families and children that are receiving support from them. We called out to the church and local business’, the response was truly incredible, we’ve received so many gifts that social services told us that there will be “no child left out” as were able to give a gift to EVERY child that they are working with.
Elevate Church is indeed making a difference, it is impacting our local community and we are supporting people who need it. God has been so faithful and we thank Him for every opportunity that we have had to share His love with others in practical ways.
2020, we believe, will be a year that we make significant bold moves, as Elevate continues to grow, as we do far more in our communities and schools, we work with local businesses and implement a radical plan for helping and supporting our local community, continuing to share the good news of Jesus and ‘Lifting You Higher’ along the way.
